Heritage Woven in Gold
A couture house of hand-drawn batik, tailored for the contemporary gentleman.

Rooted in Solo, the birthplace of the craft
Batik Parabos was founded in Surakarta — Solo — the Central Javanese court city where batik has been drawn, waxed and dyed for centuries. Every garment begins the way it always has: a single artisan, a copper canting, and molten wax traced by hand across untouched cotton or silk.
What follows is contemporary. Shoulders are cut clean, sleeves set high, silhouettes drafted with the precision of a tailoring house. The motif remains ancestral; the garment belongs to now.

Craftsmanship
Eleven weeks of wax, dye and patience
- 01
Nyorek — Drawing the Ancestral Line
The motif is drafted by hand onto raw cloth, following patterns held by Solo families for generations.
- 02
Canting — Wax by Hand
Molten wax is traced line by line with a copper canting. A single ceremonial panel can take an artisan eleven weeks.
- 03
Natural Dyeing
Indigo leaf, soga bark and mahogany root. Each immersion is repeated until the depth is right — never rushed.
- 04
Prada — Gold Leaf Detailing
Gold is laid onto selected motifs by hand, the courtly finish reserved for ceremonial pieces.
- 05
Tailoring & Embroidery
The finished cloth is cut and constructed in-house, then edged with hand embroidery and horn buttons.
